Poplar Farm- the next stage
A new local supermarket for Poplar Farm
Buckminster and Norwich Hub, as landowner developers of Poplar Farm to date, have plans to bring forward the next stage of the Poplar Farm project - a small local food/convenience store.

Before a detailed planning application is submitted to South Kesteven District Council we’d like your views. Tell us what you think.

The store will be the first stage of a local centre around a square, which will eventually also contain a community hall and medical centre - but please note - these will be the subject of separate applications in the future.
So what's planned?
The store will have a sales area of about 3,000 sq ft (280 sqm) which is roughly the same size as the Tesco Express on Barrowby Gate or the Co-op on Springfields Road in Grantham.
There will also be about 1,000 sqft (93sqm) of back-office and storage. There will be parking for 21 cars including 2 disabled spaces.

Access to the store will be off Penryhn Way using the existing entrance.
Pedestrian pathways from two points on Penrhyn Way lead to the store entrance.

This application is for a small convenience store, parking and landscaping. It is part of a larger scheme which will eventually contain a community centre, nursery and medical facilities. These will be the subject of further planning applications in the future.
Landscaping and ecology
Thorough standard assessments have been carried out. The plans show indicative shrub and tree planting as well as lawns and a feature pond (swale) that also serves as part of the drainage system for the site.
